The Starlight Foundation Enhances the Prominence of Astrotourism at FITUR 2025

This is the agenda of meetings and Starlight certification ceremonies led by the director of the Starlight Foundation.

The Starlight Foundation will be present at FITUR 2025, the world's most important international tourism fair, which will take place from January 22 to 26 in Madrid. With the sustained growth of astrotourism as one of the main trends in sustainable tourism, the Foundation will continue its efforts to promote and disseminate dark skies as a valuable natural, cultural, and economic resource.

Over the past year, the Starlight Foundation has certified new Starlight Tourist Destinations, Starlight Reserves, Star Parks, and companies committed to protecting the night sky. These advancements not only consolidate the Foundation's role as an international reference in astrotourism but also reinforce its contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially concerning education, local development, and environmental preservation.

Astrotourism: An Unstoppable Trend

Astrotourism has established itself as one of the most relevant emerging trends in the international tourism landscape. Recent data indicates that interest in experiences under starry skies has grown exponentially over the past five years, attracting both travelers seeking sustainable adventures and astronomy and astrophotography enthusiasts.

FITUR 2025 will be the perfect stage for the Starlight Foundation to reinforce its message: protecting the night skies not only benefits the environment but also stimulates local economies and offers unique development opportunities in rural areas.

With active participation in debates, presentations, and strategic meetings, the Starlight Foundation reaffirms its commitment to promoting star tourism as a driver of social and environmental change.
